Santa Fe, NM

Band in front of St Francis Cathedral

We've had a great weekend in Santa Fe.  On Saturday we found a place to park the truck, walked Old (downtown) Santa Fe, visited the New Mexico Museum of History (no cameras) and enjoyed lunch at a small restaurant in the plaza area.  Heat and the altitude got to us, so we bought two pieces of dark chocolate, quit early afternoon, and fought high winds to get back to the trailer.  You really got to get the two turbos on the F450 spooling to merge around here at this altitude.

Sunday, we enjoyed a great breakfast at IHOP (where we didn't eat too much), a quick visit to Home Depot, and a tour of El Ranchos De Las Golondinas (The Ranch of the Swallows).  This ranch was the last stop traveling north from Mexico City to Old Santa Fe.  Today it's a living museum and, especially today, an arts and crafts show location.  Once again, heat and altitude got us a little early which was appropriately followed with a trip to DQ for a soda and blizzard (chocolate, of course).

More pictures of Santa Fe and the ranch are below.  Tomorrow, maybe a hike in the mountains surrounding Santa Fe.

Great entertainment

Some color outside the lines; others dance outside the lines!
