Bi-Weekly Update

We're fine.  Still here in the sometimes sunny, sometimes stormy, Gulf Shores, AL.  Warm season forecast is proven to be true so far.  When we do get below freezing, it's only overnight & we get above freezing during the day.  We had some nasty storms off the gulf come ashore when the storm fronts came through.  The worst parts have missed us so far though some areas of the gulf coast have not been so lucky.

Gulf State Park continues to work on it new trails and bridges.  There's a new paved path from the closed section of State Road 2 to Shelby Lake that follows a back country drainage canal.  It ends in a long, narrow fishing pier.  The park is also installing a fence along Campground Road and part of State Route 2 that's designed to separate bicycle & pedestrian traffic from the vehicle traffic.  Works well on State Route 2.  Significantly narrowed Campground Road, though.  Experience RV drivers can navigate meeting another large rig, but it's pretty sporty when two big rigs do meet traveling down a now even more narrow Campground Road.  Then there's always the driver whose depth perception is lacking.  To ensure they don't hit the fence, they drive their old Honda Civic down the middle of what's left of Campground Road.  Entertaining to watch them meet a Prevost coming from the opposite direction.  I figured it's all due to people designing RV parks that've never driven an RV.

We still don't know what we're doing this summer.  So far we've planned to go to Florida from here.  Then bounce back up our traditional path of visiting family & friends.  Have reservations for Fredericksburg, VA for a couple of weeks around Easter.  Then it's off to Indiana to get the trailer serviced, a couple of appliances replaced, and get the generator fixed.  That's all we know for now.

Well, that's it for this edition.  Thanks for dropping by!  David
